A moment to see the
characters...
the people who make up the Stormwolves...
Already they have seen the contents
of the book of Odin..
Their destiny is to return home. Their work is done..
Yet there sis still threat from the Crimson
Wolves
lackies of Loki ..
and the Stormwolves will never retreat from a
battle .. |
Yet , the days battle has not
gone well...
all day they have fought on the portal
against the Blood Queen..How
much healing remains with the warriors
Far too little I think ..
Yet Ristain - Battle Healer has not even asked !!!
the Stormwolves go to meet their enemy with
little thought other than honour..
Gunn says we fight .. so we go to battle |

battle as ever.. Casimir sings

make our way to engage the enemy

fanatics of Loki..
Fenn - once thought to be the noble leader
now turned into a Trickster himself..
Demon Deer - his second
the incarnation of evil..
Soon we will meet them face to face..

as a child from Gingarren,
(by one tale - because he was marked by Loki
and forged in Fire and Blood..)
enters the fray...
With Rurisk Stormborn - the Castellan
as Selene - so recently recovering her memory
from the tragedy of Gingarren
looks on - but even she will not retreat.. |
See, as Thorsten recovers
form a blow...
Westag - now freed from being bondsman and recently remarried to Selene
finds energy in his ancient limbs..
Godfrich - only just handfasted to Attarna
fights for the future he hopes to achieve..
here fight Xel and Leif
Stormwolves through and through.. |

and so we meet upon the field
and see our ancient enemy.. |

calls to SIGURD

Come " he says " Join your people!!!"
"Now is the time for you to rejoin your father
and your people!!"
"Come to me - I am your father
Come to us - we are your people !! " |

While C'nute looks on
well does he know the trickery of Loki
that lies within the very soul of Fenn
How hard he has fought to free himself

"No !!! " Cries Sigurd...
" Never will I foul myself with you !!"
" I reject you ... "
"So be it " says FENN
and Demon Deer calls for single combat with GUNN
"Accepted " says Gunn and they
commence to fight |
But oh, the treachery of the
Crimson Wolves...
when Demon Deer looks to be losing - three of the Crimson Party set upon
Gunn from the rear.."Enough"
say the Stormwolves in Unison
and battle is joined!!
each to the other
This is not tactics - this is not gallantry
this is WAR !! and each fights as they may.. |

Each fight .. and each would
have a story to tell
if there were any to see
and record.....
Agna fell early - only the latent power of
the Tree of Life passing through his body -
placed there to revive him in the
battle with the blood queen by a friendly Lion
before the battle.. allowed him to revive
to find only bodies about him.. |
Looking around..
so many fallen!!!
so many friends...
and still Demon Deer stood

Now all his warriors gone -
Gunn
raised himself to his full power |
| Battle Raged..
Things we do not see here.. but know they
occurred ..
and can only reflect on..
how many personal heroic battles ??
what of Sigurd trapping Fenn - his treachorous sire
and disposing of him unmarked?? |

It seems that all had fallen
- but a healing balm
found in a pouch was to revive Gunn.. |

 |
a sad scene
Life's blood had drained from too many..
The Magistrate, the Healer,
each fell to the blades of the treacherous
crimsons |
But C'Nute - though
Crimson by birth...
though he wore the Ankh burned into his forehead...
fought as
hard as any.. |

He proved himself
strong - and a valued allybut
he was fighting for his own people
and we fought with him.. |

Agna - having fallen again
was roused by Gunn with only seconds
of life blood remaining .. |
| but - there was no one to
heal
and nothing of the tree of life to use for
healing!! |
 |
 |
Finally - Gunn slew Demon Deer
after long single combat
Gunn called upon his Spirit powers
while fending off the blows of his adversary
he used his power of Mind to bring his enemy to his knees
in front of him..
and there Slew him...
thus ending the battle
No others remained standing.. |
| But .. at what a
cost... Agna - managed to pour
the sap
of the tree of life into Sigurd -
the last remaining warrior who still had blood flowing..
Gunn - shocked
passes from body to body...

They must lie with their
weapons..
for surely
they will travel to Valhalla
ahead of us !! |
The wounded...
exhausted - legs useless beneath their bodies |
 |
 |
the dead..
laid out now fitting for the approval of
the Great All -Father |
| word was sent back to the
Wolves camp... |
 |
 |
but for those of us who
survived...
and those who had fallen
it was too late... |
we would always remember
those who had passed that day.. |
